Football Helps Child Tackle Autism

WESLACO, Texas -- Like most mothers, Delilah Garcia worried that her 7-year-old son J.R. would get hurt playing football.
Delilah, however, had more reason to worry than other moms. Her son is autistic, and he needs specific instructions to learn. But after several weeks of games and practices, Garcia doesn’t worry anymore. When she looks out on the field and sees J.R., she sees just another one of the guys, dressed in pads and cleats and playing his heart out.
